We are less than a month away before we move from our home. Jenny seems to still be excited about the move. I think there are too many memories in this house. Everything either reminds her of what she use to be able to do, or of where she collapsed in the kitchen with her stroke. We are in the process of selling our home and extra van, as well as packing. Overall, we are doing really well.

Jenny has made some marked improvements with her speech. Finally! Again, I would not know what a speedily recovery looked like, but her ability to produce voluntary sound is noticable and she has told me things such as, “I love you”, “Mark” and “hi”, which are things she practices in speech therapy. Perhaps this is why I understand them. Overall, most people would not recognize the sounds she makes, but the big news is that she can make sounds- which was not possible before. She was able to say “Bob” this week, so now her little brother can feel special.

  1. Hi Mark & Jenny,

Moving is a daunting and exciting task, all rolled into one. My in-laws moved to San Antonio two months ago and absolutely love it. Austin will treat you well. Jenny, YAY on the sounds!!! I’m happy that you’re making progress in an area that’s especially important to you! My best to your family. 🙂

  2. Only a month left until you move, how exciting…I am glad to hear that everyone is so excited. I hope the kids are excited too.
I am so excited to hear about the increase in vocabulary. Tha has got to feel GREAT. I know there will be many words and sentances to come. You can do it, Jenny. I know you can.
    Keep it up!

  3. Wow Jen that’s awesome! You’re definately on my cool list since you made sure to make my name your next priority after learning how to say Mark. Not Zach, not Jessie, not Sophie, but BOB! Yeah, you’re cool! The only downside I can think of for all of this is that I may not be able to use the sign language with you anymore. But don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll get over it. 🙂

I can’t even begin to tell you how impressed I am with your progress. Whenever I tell people about your progress I can’t help but act like, “Yeah, I’m cool cuz she’s MY sister.”

Keep it up! We’re all cheering for you!

    With Love
    BOB

  4. Congratulations on all your progress and move! I’ve heard Austin is an awesome city. Marlin and Margot are going to have a blast having you closer, and in such a cool city. Yee Haw!
