March 7,2005 (from Jenny!)

YES, IT REALLLY IS ME. YESTERDAY, I SAT AT CHURCH THINKING,”WHY DO’N’T I HOLD DOWN MY RING FINGER WHEN I TRY TO EXTEND M PINKIE?” (I USE MY RING FINGER TO SAY I’S AND J’S IN ASL SINCE MY PINKIE WOULD NOT GO UP ALONE.) LO AND BEHOLD IT WORKED! I WANTED TO SCREAM,”HURRAY! LOOK WHAT I DID!” AT THE SAME TIME I WONDERED WHY HADN’T I THOUGHT OF THAT BEFORE? IT SEEMED SO OBVIOUS! BUT WOULD IT HAVE WORKED? MY PROUDEST MOMENT WAS WHEN MARK NOTICED IT TOO-WHICH WASN’T TOO LONG AFTER. NOW I WONDER WHAT’S NEXT? IF I’VE LEARNED ANYTHING FROM THIS, IT’S TO BE SUPER PATIENT AND NOT TAKE ANYTHING-NO MATTER HOW SMALL IT MAY SEEM-FOR GRANTED.

  1. Wow!!! I was just sitting here at the computer talking with Joe on the phone and all of a sudden I couldn’t get the words out fast enough. I often, meaning several times a day, check your web-site and am always so inspired and amazed. But today….wow!! It was fun to share that moment with Joe so he could quickly go to the site from his work and read your entry. It was so incredible to see you video tapoing Sophie’s birthday party. Now this is so wonderful to “hear” your voice. Thanks for your thoughts on patience. Joe would agree I am the most impatient person in the wold. You are an outstanding example to all of us. We love you all!

  2. Jenny, you are an inspiration to us! Your example of patience, faith, and endurance provides encouragements for all who visit this site and those who witness your love first hand. We always knew that if there was anyone who would triumph no matter the odds it was our SUPERMOM neighbor, Jenny from the block.

  3. WOW!!! This is wonderful!!! We get to hear from you, too, Jenny. I just sat and cried when I read your letter. I’m so glad to be able to hear your thoughts now, too. Patience is a TOUGH lesson to learn. I wonder how long it takes? I hope it goes faster for you Jenny, than for me (Aunt LA). I still don’t have it even close to mastered and I’m in my 60’s. Hopefully you’ll accomplish this soon so you won’t have to keep being tested in this area at least!

Keep writing. This was SO GREAT!!!

About Mark’s last letter. I wonder if I could get Uncle Dee to try this idea of stating my thoughts when we disagree? I would be wonderful to have him do my arguing for me. He is such a master at it that it is almost hopeless for me to try to state my own opinions. So enjoy this part, too, Jenny!!!

  4. Hi Jenny! It’s great to hear from you!!! Like so many others, I regularly (daily, at least) check your site for new news. I’m sad to hear you guys will be leaving for Texas, but I’m happy that you will be able to be more comfortable in a milder climate (well, hot summers are ahead, but at least not Indiana winters). Hunter and I will miss seeing Zach at school, but you guys will always be part of our memories. Keep up the hard work – it’s paying off! You will never know how many lives you touch and inspire. Love, Sharon 🙂

  5. JENNY, THIS IS WONDERFUL NEWS! IF THERE WAS EVER A LESSON IN THE POWER OF THE HEAVENLY FATHER, THIS IS IT. THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME AND SHOWING ME THE IMPORTANCE OF CONTINUALLY BELIEVING!
    LOVE AND PRAYERS,

  9. Jenny,
I’ve been impressed with you over the years, that you could do anything you put your mind to, and now you’re going above and beyond! It’s wonderful to see your thoughts. We’re going to miss your family when you move, and we’ll miss Mark as our home teacher. But you’ll continue to be an inspiration to me. I’m so thrilled for your progress!
