EXCITING NEWS

I JUST FOUND OUT I’LL BE PUBLISHED IN THE February/March ISSUE OF Digital Scrapbooking from Simple Scrapbooks. I NEVER AM RECOGNIZED, THOUGH AM TOLD I SHOULD BE, SO I HAD NO INTENTION 2 ENTERR-JUST FELT I SHOULD THAT MONING! I ENTERED W/IN 2 HOURS OF IT ENDING! I REALLY THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT!

WHAT I WROTE & I’LL POST THE PG. THAT’LL BE PUBLISHED (& WAS SOOO EASY, ANY1 COULD HAVE DONE IT!):

I used to do all traditional scrapbooking and then switched over SINCE TRADITIONAL WAS NO LONGER FEASIBLE-I HAD A STROKE & COULDN’T TALK OR MOVE. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS, I GOT BACK ENOUGH MOVEMENT SO I COULD CONTROL A MOUSE. I HAVE DOUBLE VISION, SO INSTEAD OF A COMPUTER SCREEN, I USE A 44′ LCD (BIG SCREEN TV), BUT IT’S HARD TO SEE TO SCRAPBOOK. YET, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT IT IS WAY FASTER, EVEN WITH BAD VISION, THAN TRADITIONAL SCRAPBOOKING, EASIER TO MAKE A DUPLICATE PG. FOR KIDS, AND WAY MORE FORGIVING (I LOVE THE ‘UN-DO’ BUTTON). SINCE I HAVE SEEN HOW DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING HELPS ME, I WANTED OTHERS TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING, SO EVERY OTHER THURS., I MEET WITH OTHER WOMEN AT MY HOUSE TO WATCH A TUTORIAL & PRACTICE WHAT WE’VE LEARNED IN DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING. I ALSO HAD A SISTER-IN-LAW & A CLOSE FRIEND, WHO’D PREVIOUSLY REBUKED TRADITIONAL SCRAPBOOKING, JUST WATCHED ME ASSEMBLE A PG., & STARTED DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING.

BEFORE MY STROKE, I TAUGHT KALEIDESCOPES & HOW TO USE CRYSTAL LACQUER. SINCE THEN, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT BOTH ARE POSSIBLE TO DO IN DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING, BUT I’M STILL A BEGINNER, SO I HAVE YET TO LEARN ABOUT HOW TO DO CRYSTAL LACQUER, & ONLY RECENTLY WAS AMAZED BY HOW MUCH EEASIER A K-SCOPE PROGRAM IS!

http://www.jenannlynn.org/ TELLS MY STORY, DESCRIBES MY EYESIGHT & TELLS OF WHEN I STARTED DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING, & HAS MANY OTHER SCRAPBOOK PGS., BUT I HAVEN’T KEPT TRACK OF MY SUPPLIES, HOWEVER IT’S USUALLYFROM http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/ & http://www.digitalfreebies.com/.

  1. WOW! Jenny, you are something else. I am STILL trying to do regular scrapbooking. I’ve never even heard of the things you were teaching. But you give me hope. I’m going to try digital, too. I LOVE scrapbooking, but I worry that I need to understand computers more than I do in order to do the digital stuff. I wish I was closer so I could join your every other Thurs. meeting. I really could use the help. Your page was just beautiful! I am so impressed. You just never give up on anything. I just grinned and whooped when I read you’d leaned over and scratched your leg. You go, girl!!!!

  2. Very cool!!! I’m so glad you entered the contest! You will undoubtedly inspire more people than you can imagine. 🙂

  3. Way to follow your impressions! We had a lesson that included following impressions (given by Mary Alcorn) this evening. It was nice to see Connie there, by the way! You’re doing such an awesome job with your digital scrapbooking. I started that a few years ago partly because I leave such a messy trail with traditional. I’m thrilled that you will be spotlighted (spotlit?) in a national publication. You’ll inspire many to try, not only digital scrapbooking, but to not give up when things seem impossible.

    Love, Maria

  4. I was on the primary music group tht you were on when you had your stroke. I always loved your ideas and still refer to them. I have followed your experience as have my teenage daughters. You are in our family prayers and my individual prayers even though we don’t know you. You have touched our lives. I am so glad you were able to begin to journal again.
I hadn’t checked since your last entry and today I was thinking about you and just thought I’d see if there was any information. You are an example for me. I love music and scrapbooking…the first birthday of Zach when you were so concerned with the planning of the party…”the theme” I could relate!

I think of you and your husband often and so pray for the best for you and your family. I am grateful that you were able to share your lives with others and bless others lives. You have touched our lives and yet you had no idea you had.

  5. Jenny!

That page is awesome. I wish that I could scapbook even 1/10th of the way that you do. LoisAnn has done some awesome scaprbooks for our family for our birthdays. Don’t let her kid you, she does an awesome job. That was such an beautiful day and it was so great to see you and Mark and your cute little family. So do you ever do online teaching of your scrapbooks? I think that you would do a great job at that and I am sure that you would hav a lot of takers (I would be up for that). I would really like to do scrapbooking. I just need to have more confidence and more experience. I have tons of supplies and tons of pictures. Dee’s get mad at me everytime I go to a scapbook store because I buy a lot of stuff and then it sits in the closet. i have great intentions, but I always feel that the pages look silly. HELP!!!!!! Do you have some basic starter tips that you could share with me? I have boxes and boxes of pictures and feel way more overwelmed each time I get them out to start working on them. I keep telling Dee that I am going to find someone that I can pay to get all of these pictures done into a scapbooks. Of course he thinks that that is pretty silly. After all I have a whole closet full of scrapbook stuff and lots of pictures that I could put on them. Well, best be off for now. We love you and your family. We hope that it is not long before we can see each other again. Congrats on the publication. Talk with you soon.

    Love, Penny
